Activity Description:

This is a 1 day mountaineering trip to the summit of the Mont Aiguille (2085m of altitude) with a UIAGM High Mountain Guide.

The Mont Aiguille is a mythical mountain in the world of mountaineering and alpinism as it was the first mountain ever to be climbed in the name of mountaineering in …1492! It is a spectacular table top mountain and as its summit is only accessible by climbing, it remains one of the rare plateaux summits never to have succumbed to any human agricultural influence.

The day consists of a 1,5 hour walk in through forest and Alpine pastures to the foot of the climb, then a tough scramble and climbing (grade 3-4) to reach the stunning summit with magnificent 360 degree panoramic views.

The descent is done via two very dramatic 50m abseils!

Meeting Place: At the Foyer de Ski de Fond / Ski Nordic at Richardieres.
