A fabulous mountaineering experience with large glacier crossing and interesting scramble to the summit. This is a little known summit in the Ecrins National Park and is a perfect mountaineering experience off the beaten track with spectacular views. It is a long climb and physically challenging but no specific mountaineering experience is required to successfully summit.
You will meet your guide at the Pigeonnier Refuge on the evening before your summit but need to arrange to collect your mountaineering equipment (harness, helmet, ice axises and crampons) from your guide before you walk in unless you are bringing your own.
The date you book is the day you will walk into the refuge and you can walk in at any time as it is self guided. You just need to make sure are at the refuge before 6pm. Your guide will meet you there. You should be back at the refuge for lunch time the following day and can then walk back down to the car park.
